  • A skilled and knowlegeable adult social care workforce enables the provision of quality Service User focused services that have a positive impact on people's lives.  As well as the traditional face-to-face courses and events, we also offer a range of extended provision such as; online resources, blended learning, eLearning, Self-Study Guides and Virtual Classroom sessions.  We will develop and grow our offer for the Adult Social Care Sector so that it meets the challenges of providing quality service user focused services both now and in the future.

    • Our Services for Adult Care Sector Providers in the East Riding are funded by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council with support from NHS East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group.

      Unless noted otherwise, we offer a range of courses, events and learning resources free of charge to Adult Care Sector Providers that are contracted to provide services to East Riding Service Users.

    • The Social Care Academy is committed to providing quality learning for the Adult Social Care Sector in the East Riding.  The Academy recognises that people learn in different ways and flexibility in the range and type of topics, along with delivery methods is critical in to meet the needs of modern care services in the 21st century.

      Historically learning was solely delivered through face-to-face training courses.  The Academy continues to provide face-to-face courses and events, but we have extended provision in the form of; online resources, blended learning, eLearning, Self-Study Guide and Virtual Classroom sessions.

      The ASC LeadER Digitial Learning and Resource Service is a key part of the Academy's provision, as it:

      • Assists in facilitating access to the digital learning and resource.
      • Acts as a central point to promote information on courses and events available.
      • Provides an online eBooking form for use by Adult Care Sector Providers to book a place on scheduled courses or events.

    • We provide an online index of Online Courses and Resources, which can be be accessed:

      • By selecting Find Learning and then Find Online Courses and Resources from the menu bar.  This enables you to search or look through the different categories of courses and resources.
      • Using the Search Courses box that appears near the bottom of the screen.

    • We provide 2 key items to promote and find the range of Courses and Events we offer:

      • Learning and Skills Directory, which provides a directory of the online, face-to-face and virtual courses and events available.  This includes an overview  and the learning aims and objectives that learners' will achieve by completing the learning.
      • Calendar of Courses and Events, which provides a list of all courses and events available within a particular month.  This includes; name, date(s), times, venue and how to book.

      These can be accessed:

      • Through the dedicated Course and Events page by selecting Find Learning and then Find Courses and Resources from the menu.
      • Through the quick links on the top of the Home page.
