    Welcome to the Virtual Classroom Landing Pad, which enables you to access resources and the Virtual Classroom for Medication Management in ERYC Day Services.  

    1. Please refer to the Virtual Classroom Learning (MS Teams) Guidance for information about taking part in a Virtual Classroom.
    2. Checked the Resources... section for any resources for the course and to access the Online Evaluation Form once you have completed the course.

  • LEARNING AIMS
     This course aims to enable you…
     
    • To understand the administration, record keeping, safe storage and disposal of medication within your role as a day service worker. 
    • To understand your role and responsibilities as a day service worker with respect to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Standard Operating Procedures.
    • To be aware of legislation and guidance governing medication management.

    LEARNING OUTCOMES
     By the end of this course, you will be able to …
     
    • Understand the administration of medication within your role.
    • Identify the correct recording of medication administration.
    • List key legislation and guidance.
    • Discuss the Standard Operating Procedures for Day Services.
    • Explain what you would do if you had any concerns over medication.
    • Discuss medication errors.

    The virtual training will also include discussions based on your knowledge so far, and there will be opportunities to apply your knowledge in practice-based scenarios.

    Duration: 3.5 hours
    • Mandatory pre-requisite

      Learners will complete the eLearning pre-requisite eLearning training - Introduction to Medication Management in ERYC Day Services.

      This should be completed no more than 3 months in advance of the virtual classroom and no less than a week prior. ( this will be monitored by the team to check completion before the virtual classroom)

      There is an assessment quiz at the end of the eLearning which needs to be completed, and with an 80% pass mark.

    • Learner Resource

    • The learner should download the above Learner Resource prior to the course.

      This is to support the virtual classroom learning and support the competency checking within their service.

    • Post Course Quiz/Assessment and competency observations

      Following the virtual classroom the learner will need to complete the Post course quiz/ assessment, which has a pass mark of 100%. This should be completed within 7 days of the virtual training. You will be given a code to access the on-line post course quiz.

      After completing you are then required to undertake some competency observations with your manager before full sign off of the medication management training.
