LEARNING AIM(S):
This course aims to equip you with the knowledge, skills and competence to use safe moving and handling techniques whilst working with Service Users in a residential setting and in the community.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:
What do I need to provide for the first session?
This course will be delivered in a physical classroom.
You should be physically able to perform the practical tasks involved in this course, if you have any concerns or queries you need to discuss them with your supervisor or Manager before attending the course.
You MUST wear appropriate flat footwear with toes covered and no heels – in line with those worn when carrying out your caring role. Failure to do so will prevent you from attending and you will be turned away.
You must have clean, short, fingernails which are free from nail products including artificial nails. Failure to do so will prevent you from attending and you will be turned away.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught by an experienced trainer and will take part in a range of activities including demonstrations, group and individual work This is a practical course where you will learn and demonstrate the knowledge and skills of moving and handling people. You will be assessed carry out moving and handling of people techniques and equipment / aids in a safe and effective manner.
